Pole Piece Application
Pole piece with winding and insulator
This photo demonstrates one of the insulating principles of IEMS technology, where the two segment insulator has been wound around the SMC pole piece.
Pole piece with insulating segment
This photo shows one half of the insulating shoe segments and the SMC pole piece prior to winding.
Winding machine with coil and pole pieces
This photo shows the winding machine having completed the first row of individual pole pieces with the second row awaiting winding. Note that the custom built winding machine is fully computer interfaced and therefore able to be programmed to perform the below specifications:
- Sizing pole piece
- Selection of wire diameters
- Automatically selecting suitable layering to maximise filling factor
- Options for individual pole piece winding or complete three-phase winding with a single cut
